It tells a charming story with a likeable character in Rufus. This is partially excused for Deponia, since the game is part of an already announced trilogy, nevertheless, the ending could definitely have been wrapped-up better. Deponia is a fun game for those looking to put their brains and problem solving skills to the test. Alas, the only issue with the game’s story is that it follows the current trend of leaving its ending bland in order to set up the way for a sequel. On the whole, Deponia is definitely more than an average old-school adventure game. This of course is also due to the great writing and clever humor of the game. Deponias protagonist is a lazy slob, Rufus. Rufus and the rest of the characters feel fresh and unique, and the voice actors do an overall excellent job, managing to make the numerous dialogues of the game feel entertaining and not at all dull or dragging. This is our iPAD review of award-winning Point & Click Adventure Deponia by Daedalic Entertainment. The game’s cartoonish style and wit work very well in setting up a light-hearted atmosphere. The plot is interesting enough to get the player engaged. Unfortunately for Goal, she does not have much to say about Rufus’ or everyone else’s plans about her since for a great part of the game she remains unconscious. Adventure games may no longer be a huge part of mainstream gaming, but names of some genre specific developers are known also outside the circle of devoted fans. For a game whose premise is to get off Deponia, an awfully long time is spent wandering the streets Rufus is sick of, and as the first chapter stretched on my own inability to escape started to sour me on the experience. Our hero not only finds himself smitten by Goal, but also sees in her his one chance of actually making it out of the planet. It's a decent length but sadly unbalanced, with more than half the game spent in Rufus’s despised town of Kuvaq. Not surprisingly, he fails, and his plans eventually backfire and instead of him escaping, he ends up knocking out a beautiful Elysian girl named Goal, causing her to fall on Deponia, leaving them both still trapped there. No surprise that Rufus had enough of that and hatches one ludicrous plan after the other to escape this bleak. Life on the trash-planet Deponia is anything but a walk in the park. The main problem is that no one before has managed such a task, but of course Rufus is set to succeed. Metacritic Game Reviews, Deponia: The Complete Journey for PC, Junk, junk and even more junk. The twist-filled story takes its off-beat characters all over trash planet Deponia, a unique game world in the style of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett and Matt Groening. Rufus’ main goal is to finally make it out of his trash-filled planet, Deponia, once and for all, and reach Elysium, his dream destination but also his only option. 8.1 Generally favorable reviews based on 425 Ratings Your Score 0 Summary: Deponia is a fast-paced comedy of errors and one of the most unusual love stories in gaming history. The story is centered on Rufus, a rather self-absorbed and sluggish character that initially does not seem to care much about anything or anyone around him.
